Navigating fertility challenges can feel overwhelming. I understand how deeply personal and emotional this journey is. My approach is based on evidence-based nutrition, functional medicine principles and holistic care, to support you every step of the way.
Understanding Fertility Through Nutrition
Fertility is more than just biology. It’s about creating the right environment in your body for conception and a healthy pregnancy. Nutrition plays a vital role here. I focus on personalised dietary plans that help balance hormones, improve egg and sperm quality, and support overall reproductive health.
For example, incorporating foods rich in antioxidants like berries, nuts, and leafy greens can reduce oxidative stress, which is known to affect fertility. Omega-3 fatty acids found in oily fish or flaxseeds help regulate hormones and improve blood flow to reproductive organs. I encourage you to think of food as medicine - something that fuels your fertility journey gently and effectively. I have a 'food first' rule but also use supplements to get better results.
Practical Tips for Fertility-Friendly Eating
Choose whole, unprocessed foods: These provide essential nutrients without harmful additives.
Balance your meals: Include protein, healthy fats, and complex carbohydrates to stabilise blood sugar. Most people need support with this area of their diet.
Stay hydrated: Water supports all bodily functions, including reproductive health.
Limit caffeine and alcohol: These can interfere with hormone balance and fertility.
Add in fertility supportive foods: The additional of personalised recommendations can make a huge difference to ovarian and sperm health in as little at 8-12 weeks.
Consider supplements wisely: No two people should be the same supplement protocol. Every supplement should be chosen to meet your needs based on blood tests, symptoms and your fertility history.

Hormonal Balance
Hormones are the messengers that regulate your reproductive system. When they’re out of sync, fertility can be affected. My approach includes identifying hormonal imbalances through careful assessment and then tailoring nutrition and lifestyle changes to restore the correct levels.
For instance, insulin resistance or thyroid issues can disrupt ovulation. By adjusting your diet to include low glycaemic index foods and supporting thyroid health with selenium-rich foods like Brazil nuts, you can help your body regain balance. Stress management is also crucial because stress hormones can interfere with reproductive hormones.
Lifestyle Changes That Support Hormonal Health
Regular gentle exercise: Activities like yoga or walking help reduce stress and improve circulation.
Mindful relaxation techniques: Meditation or deep breathing can lower cortisol levels.
Consistent sleep patterns: Aim for 7-9 hours to support hormone regulation.
Avoid environmental toxins: Reduce exposure to plastics and chemicals that may disrupt hormones.

How I Personalise Fertility Support
Every individual’s fertility journey is unique. That’s why I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. I take time to understand your medical history, lifestyle, and nutritional habits. Together, we create a plan that fits your needs and goals.
This might include:
Detailed nutritional analysis
Finding out whats going wrong and correct it: immune system, nutrients, inflammation...
Hormonal testing, microbiome testing, genetic tests, recommendations
Realistic advice to tweak your diet
Guidance on supplements that will get you the best results, quicker
Ongoing support and adjustments as your journey progresses
My clients have usually experienced apathy or dismissal from other health professionals, often being told theres nothing wrong. We work together to get answers, make the changes required to get your body 'baby ready'.
